Improving the quality of education / teaching, research and dedication to the community in an effort to maintain the sustainability of national and regional development.

Profile

Currently Haluoleo University has 7 faculties with the addition of some programs and the opening of the Graduate Diploma. Based on the results of "Evaluation of the Self Study Program by the Director General of Higher Education Ministry submitted to the National Working Meeting of the Vice Rector I, II and III throughout Indonesia, which was held on November 29, sd. December 1, 2004 in Surabaya, Haluoleo University ranked number 15 out of 82 universities throughout Indonesia.

Haluoleo University in the year 2007/2008 is expected to have become an advanced and modern university, after the approval of the Soft-Loan Help Indonesian government and the Islamic Development Bank, Jeddah, whose realization will be started in 2005.

Assistance will be used to build 8 (eight) new building of international standard and rehabilitate 11 (eleven) of existing buildings on the Campus Earth three responsibilities. Assistance will also be supported by DANIDA (Danish) for laboratory equipment and polytechnics.

Brief History

University Haluoleo (Unhol) was established in 1964 as a private university Filial from Hasanuddin University in Makassar. After seventeen years ago, the University of Haluoleo inaugurated as the first public universities in Southeast by the Director General of Higher Education; Prof. Dr. Doddy Tisnaamidjaja representing the Minister for Education and Culture which was held by Prof. period. Dr. Tangggal Nugroho Notosusanto on August 19, 1981 as the 42 state universities in Indonesia under Indonesian Presidential Decree Number 37 year 1981 which consists of:

- Faculty of Teacher Training and Education
- Faculty of Economics
- Faculty of Social and Political Sciences
- Faculty of Agriculture.

When opened, the University campus occupies Haluoleo Kemaraya that their area covering only seven hectares. Campus is relatively narrow conditions requires the founders to seek an alternative campus as well as capacity expansion and the anticipated accretion `faculty. Along with that, public confidence was the greater of the University Haluoleo, although only 17 people supported by permanent lecturers.

After two years officially began the construction of the Green Earth Tridharma Anduonohu campus occupies an area of 250 hectares, which was then located on the outskirts of Kendari, located 14 kilometers from the seaport of Kendari Bay. After the expansion of Kendari, the campus Anduonohu currently resides in the heart of the city. Simultaneously, the Senate stands Haluoleo University menyhetujui Haluoleo University turned into UNHALU.

Relatively extensive development of this campus takes about ten years to complete perkulihan buildings and office buildings as well as other supporting facilities. Marking the completion of this Anduonoho campus, the Minister of Education and Culture, Prof.. Dr. Ing. Wardiman Djojonegoro on 4 April 1994 signed a plaque dedication.

Toward the construction of Campus Anduonohu, Minister of Education and Culture closed the operation of the School of Teacher Education (SPG) and the School Teachers Sport (SGO), so all the following facilities faculty and employees transferred to the University of Haluoleo. Since then the University has two campuses Haluoleo major lectures, namely; Campus and Campus Kemaraya Anduonohu, plus two former college campus supporters of SPG with area 4 ha and 3 ha of former SGO.

As a leading university in the southeast peninsula of Sulawesi Island, University Haluoleo actively contribute ideas for the development of 1528 villages, 67 districts, four districts, two municipalities and one Administrative City in the region. Southeast Sulawesi, including population growth that reached 2.72% per year, far above the average growth of the national population; 1.92. Currently the population of Southeast Sulawesi totaling 1.72 million people who mostly live in rural areas.

The word "Haluoleo" is taken from the name of a king in the Kingdom Konawe who lived around the seventeenth century. Haluoleo besides known as a wise leader, a knight who is also believed to be relentless and tenacious defense of spilled blood. Haluoleo literally means eight days in Tolaki language - language of the natives who inhabited the Kingdom Konawe Kendari.

Cooperation

Cooperation by the University of Haluoleo is a mutually beneficial partnership. Over the last few years, the University Haluoleo has partnerships with various stakeholders, including government agencies, state enterprises, private national, as well as technical institutions in the area. All this is done in order to accelerate the academic development at the University of Haluoleo. Cooperation had been done could be classified on the joint research, academic development, construction of educational facilities and cooperation which are advocacy.

For the development of S2, Haluoleo University has partnered with various universities advanced in this country, such as: ITB, IPB, UGM, Universitas Padjadjaran, Unibraw, ITS, Udayana, Hasanuddin University and UNM are for overseas universities such as University Sains Malaysia, New Castle University in Australia, in addition Haluoleo University in order to complete his education facilities have cooperated with foreign donors and domestic such as PT. Antam Tbk, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), CIDA Canada, Australia, Japan JBIC, the World Bank through the Due-like program, the UNDP through the program PARUL, TPSDP, Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and grants from the Dutch government all these projects was obtained through competition very ketet with other universities in the country. Expected number of co-operation can be done to add accelerator of the University of Haluoleo.

Faculty

Haluoleo University is located in the capital of Kendari in Southeast Sulawesi Province, is one of the existing universities in eastern Indonesia. In its early years only had 4 (four) faculties, now after 27 years standing, had increased in 4 (four) faculty. In addition, Unhalu also developed a Graduate Program S2 with 7 (seven) and Study Program 1 (one) Doctoral Program Department of Management Science S3 cooperation with UB Haluoleo University of Malang.

Facilities

Lecture Building

College activities at the University of Haluoleo supported by lectures covering 28 300 m2 building, building 24 776 m2 of offices, libraries 4500 m2, 12 400 m2 laboratory, green house 96 m2, 1274 m2 of student dormitories, and the auditorium area of 4200 m2

Laboratory and Library

For the field of exact sciences, the implementation of college activities laboratory equipped with 12 units (basic laboratories (Physics, Biology, Chemistry), Laboratory of Agronomy, Soil Laboratory, Pest and Disease Laboratory, Plant Breeding Laboratory, Laboratory of inoculants, Fisheries Laboratory, Analytical Laboratory, Laboratory of Development and Engineering Laboratory. While for the social sector, available laboratory Accounting, Anthropology, sociology and law.

Haluoleo University library collection of books as much as 71 021 library books. In addition to each faculty there are libraries that collect books based on the needs of majors and courses in each faculty.

Scientific Recreation

Approximately 40 km from the campus of the University Haluoleo Anduonohu Moramo waterfall there which can be used as places of scientific, because the surrounding sights of this store hundreds of species of rare plants and the private sector that can enrich students' knowledge in the field of plant taxonomy.

Similarly, the National Park Aopa Watumohai Swamp which is about 180 km from the campus of the University of Haluoleo. This national park has a diversity of flora and fauna. Previous identification results show that in the national park there are swamps Aopa 89 families, 257 genera and 323 species of plants and 155 species of birds. 32 species of them, including rare bird species and 37 species of which are endemic to the island of Sulawesi spesien.

Which is just as interesting is the existence of Tukang Iron Islands to the tourism potential of saving hundreds of species of marine animals and marine plants and even among the rare species in the world.

Other Supporting Infrastructure

Haluoleo University is also equipped with facilities and infrastructure to support extra-curricular student activities, such as the Student Activity Center (PKM), places of worship, stadiums for the soccer field and athletics, as well as other sports facilities like tennis court, badminton, volley ball, takraw, table tennis basket ball, and mat for martial sports such as martial arts, taewk kwondo, Karate and Kempo.

Student Affairs

Especially with regard pengeolaan Haluoleo University student organizations refer to the Minister of National Education Decree No. 155/U/1998. In operational activities undertaken by student organizations Student Executive Body (BEM) as an entity that is operationally implemented by departments / SME and Student Consultative Assembly (MPM), which serves as the legislative and judicial branches of the university level.

At the level of faculty conducted by the Institute Student Executive (LEKMAF) and Institute Faculty Student Legislative Council (DLMF), and the Institute of Study Students Study Program (MFI-PS) located at each study program.

A number of these institutions was formed in order to ensure the implementation of student activities which include: talents, interests and passion (student interest), and scientific reasoning (knowlwdge student) and the welfare of students (student welfare).
